You can catch many different fish in the local rivers. We have quality spin cast gear that you are welcome to use after a day on the boat or take with for a river drop off.
Dolly Varden, Cuthroat Trout, Pink, Sockeye, Chum and Silver Salmon.
The Salmon River is within walking distance from the lodge where Dolly Varden, Cuthroat Trout, Pink and Coho salmon can be caught. The Dolly and Cuthroat May-Sept. Pink Salmon early August and the Silver Salmon head up late August and run strong throught the end of September. Fishing the incoming tide gives the best opportunities.
The Excursion River is a short boat ride than drop off and walk half a mile. It has a great Sockeye Salmon run beginning early July through end of July. Pink Salmon run up early August. The Silver Salmon start running up the river mid August. Again, fishing the incoming tide gives the best opportunities.
The Bartlett River is located inside Glacier Bay National Park. A short van ride, then it is a three mile, very scenic round trip hike on a well marked trail. We are unable to guide you to this river because it is in Glacier Bay National Park but you are welcome to make the walk. It has a Sockeye Salmon run the first of July, Pinks early August and the Silver Salmon run up mid-August running strong through the end of September.
